We close that gap. As a registered Legal Document Assistant practice, we prepare the legal documents our clients need. We do not provide legal advice, and we do not represent clients in court. We prepare paperwork, accurately and professionally, based on the instructions our clients provide.
What Is a Legal Document Assistant?
A Legal Document Assistant (LDA) is a California-registered professional authorized to prepare legal documents at the direction of clients who are representing themselves. LDAs are regulated under California Business and Professions Code Sections 6400 through 6415.
LDAs must be registered with the county, bonded, and must clearly disclose that they are not attorneys and cannot provide legal advice. This structure allows people to get professional help with their paperwork without feeling intimidated by attorneys.
